this a bit weird because this looks like someone i used to know.
but this is the kind of look your get from most kids if you ask them to show an angry expression
like the hat though, though you could say that there is to much light on the face of the subject the use of natural light working to a disadvantage, i find that this draws something away from the overall image and at the same time adds to it a certain quality that i find more disable, though i know some people would disagree with me

you can kind of tell that the subject was a bit anxious about having this taken and not sure about the surroundings said it was in Bolivia, and there's what like a babies high chair in the background..

Jim Morrison by Joel Brodsky
this what i would consider a quintessential portrait photo as it shows jim as what he was a sex symbol and music icon.
i do really like jim and the doors and as such this is probable my fav photo of jim just because.
also he's a legend in my eyes and a lot of other peoples, but most of all i love it because of his nonchalant expression. you can just see from his expression that he just dont give a f*@k..

Starting a blog

One of the first things I did was start a blog. Which entailed having to open a blogger account using my g-mail domain, which I had set up previously, as without a g-mail account I couldn’t set up a blogger account, as Google owns blogger. After I had opened a blogger account I added people from the course, to my Google+ circles, so that they could see what I was looking at and what I was thinking about the images I posted on my blog. There was very few issues with this as Google+ and blogger are very user friendly and any problems I did encounter aren’t really note worthy as they basically solved themselves with just having taken the time to have a play around with them each in turn.

Going and taking pictures

I then went out and took some photo’s in the street photography style, with a borrowed camera at first, then when my loan came through I bought my own camera so I could take photo’s when I wanted too, without having the trouble of checking weather there was 35mm camera available and then having to borrow one out of the store. Mostly walking around and shooting but I did sit on bench and take some shoots as well. Taking photo’s of things I found interesting and or visually appealing, posting the contact sheets and prints from the shoots onto my blog. At first I didn’t have much idea about what I really wanted to produce as my final 5 prints, but as I took more and more photo’s I realized that the photo’s I actually liked where the ones with angles and circular shapes. The circular shape of the puddles and angular nature of curbs and square seaty things contrasted really well. I found it easer to achieve the circular shapes (from puddles) in rainy weather.

Developing and printing

After I had taken the photo’s I developed them and made some prints, I had a few issues at first with my film being under fixed, so I went back and re-fixed that film, I also I had a note worthy experience with one of the winding reels with my film not going on it properly, and ended up have to get rid of the film as the reel actually damaged it. Other than that I had no other difficulties developing. Whilst printing I had a little difficulty with one the enlargers being dodgy, the focusing light kept flickering on and off whilst I was trying to find the correct focus for the image which led to me having to find a different enlarger one that wouldn’t have this problem. The only other problem I had whilst printing was the simple fact that I couldn’t find the correct focus by eye so I had to keep borrow a focus finder from the store, which wasn’t really to big an issue until they ran out which meant I had to weight, im not the most patient person and weighting isn’t my strong suit and as such I found this to be quite a big issue.

JFK said that "no news picture in history has generated so much emotion around the world as this one has". my  feelings about these pictures are a bit mixed, first i kind of like the fact that the were taken and the effect they had was obviously for the better, but as a way of protest it is very extreme..
