Edward Burtynski

We watched the film Manufactured Landscapes about Edward Burtynski, and found it to be a real eye opener. This has to be my favorite photo by Burtynski.

The feel of size and scale in this shot is phenomenal, the uniformity of all the people/ workers goes hand in hand with the uniformity of the buildings. The building in the front left of the photo appears at odds with the rest, this mirrored by the odd person here and there not wherein yellow. It really is a manufactured landscape in every sense, even the plants look fake and to well ordered.
